Aadhaar virtual ID can be generated from the portal of UIDAI. This will be a digital ID. The base holder can generate it several times. At present VID is valid only for one day. This means that after one day the base holder can regenerate this virtual base ID. It can only be generated from the website of UIDAI.

Now enter your base number, followed by insert the security code and click on the SEND OTP
The mobile number will be registered to you, the OTP will be sent to you.
After entering an OTP, you will get the new VID generated option
When it is generated, your virtual ID will be sent on your mobile. I.e. the 16 digit number will come
What will happen with Virtual ID?
This will give you the option of not sharing the base number at the time of verification
Various items like verification of name, address and photograph will be verified with virtual ID
Any user will be able to generate as many virtual ID as possible
Old ID will be automatically canceled
According to UIDAI, authorized agencies will not be allowed to generate virtual ID on behalf of Aadhaar card holder
